How exciting for this young family to have finally found and successfully competed for their first home in their favorite SF neighborhood – the Inner Richmond. Meet Chandler and Jenny and their cute daughter, Zoe. I have been working with them about 7 months helping them find their dream home. We initially toured some properties together. I looked for them on Broker Tour (Tuesdays in SF when specific times for new and repeat listings in given neighborhoods are offered to brokers for touring). They looked on their own on weekends and I looked with them on weekends. Eventually, they made their first offer earlier this year. They carefully listened to my recommendations of the things you need to do to be successful in this super hot market. I have discussed these things before in my blog.
For their first offer on an Edwardian two bedroom condo in the Inner Richmond, they competed against 13 other offers; they came in 4th which was pretty good for their first offer. They were disappointed that they didn’t get it, naturally. The “winner” made an offer substantially over any of the previous comps for a two bedroom condo in that neighborhood. My buyers got back up on the horse as they say and started looking again. In early May, they spotted another two bedroom condo in the Inner Richmond near Golden Gate Park. Their daughter loves the carousel there so to be near that and still be in their favorite neighborhood in a place they love was ideal. This time on their second offer they succeeded and beat out 7 other offers. They were thrilled! This called for a celebration so we went to the Social Club in the Presidio as seen here for cocktails and appetizers, a lovely way to mark this special occasion.
If you or someone you know is having a challenging time getting into this market, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. I’d be glad to help!
