Living in San Francisco affords us close proximity to some of the most beautiful parks and beaches. Last Sunday, my husband Michael and I went on one of our favorite hikes in the Bay Area. It is the Muir Beach hike and the coastal trail will take you along a ridge overlooking the ocean with fantastic views. It was a warm, clear day and we enjoyed seeing the wild flowers and the waves as well as the fishing boats far out at sea.
We like to stop at the top and rest, and the juicy apple I bit into at the top tasted especially good after our climb up. Walking down toward the beach we could see the colorful beach umbrellas scattered throughout the sand.
The reward at the end of the hike is a Guinness at The Pelican Inn, an English style pub, for a delightful end to a perfect day.
