San Francisco has a lot to offer in the way of fun activities. There are things you can do in this city that you can’t do anywhere else – like sailing in San Francisco Bay! The wind in the bay is like nowhere else, one of the reasons America’s Cup was held here in 2013.
My husband, Michael, decided a number of years ago that since he was living in SF, he should learn how to sail.
He decided to take lessons at OCSC, a fine sailing school out of Berkeley, which was started with the idea of having a place where the average person can learn to sail. http://www.ocscsailing.com/
There’s nothing like feeling the wind from the bay whipping in your face. I helm, and crew for Michael, so I get to steer, trim the jib, or assist with all the little things that need tending. We sail on the Bay and have even sailed out of Ventura to the Channel Islands, and enjoy taking clients out on the bay now and then. Guests soon realize that it is not the calm Mediterranean sail they might have envisioned. Sailing is just one of the many advantages of living in the City by the Bay!
