One of the fun things about being a realtor in San Francisco is being able to preview new properties before they are viewed by the public. This afternoon, my firm, Compass, was given a sneak preview of the Crescent – a new luxury development that sits on top of Nob Hill. It is located at 875 California Street at Powell. It is comprised of 44 luxury condos with 4 penthouse units at the top of the eight story building. You enter the building through a rounded elegant marble lobby and the luxury continues from there. Almost every unit has a unique layout which is unusual in new development buildings. The finishes are tasteful and high-end. The kitchens have bone-colored custom cabinetry and marble countertops. The bathrooms are beautifully appointed with polished marble. They have rounded double vanity sinks and large deep soaking tubs. The design is Deco but modern.
The prices range from $1.3+M for a one bedroom unit; $2.5 – $4+M for a two bedroom unit and $5+M for a large unit on the 7th floor. This development seems perfect for empty nesters who may be wanting to downsize and sell their homes in Pacific Heights and move into a luxury condo in an elevator building with nice amenities, including a 24 hour doorman. It is in a prime location. You walk out the door and you are in the middle of it all. You can walk across the street to the Tonga Room and have a mai tai or walk down the hill toward downtown for dinner at any of the top restaurants.
